| The
British Board of Agrément is an organisation partnered with Government
and whose Governing Board includes representation on behalf of the Office
of the Deputy Prime Minister. The BBA's Agrément Certificates have
been providing authoritative and independent information on the performance
of building products for over 35 years, including Cavity Wall Insulation,
Cavity Wall Reinforcement Foam, Chimney Linings, Concrete Repair and High
Friction Surfaces. Every Agrément Certificate contains important
data on durability, installation and compliance with Building Regulations,
not just in England and Wales, but in Scotland and Northern Ireland, too.
Assessment involves three distinct areas - laboratory testing (carried out
wherever possible to UKAS requirements), site inspections, undertaken by
the BBA's own Inspection Services team, and factory production control.
The BBA is the UK member of the European Union of Agrément (UEAtc),
represents the UK in the European Organisation for Technical Approvals,
and is responsible for the issue of European Technical Approvals in this
country, enabling products to achieve the commercially vital CE mark. The
BBA also operates a number of Approved Installer schemes in certain key
product areas and its Test Services section can carry out a wide range of
tests against the requirements of British, European or international standards,
as well as trade and industry specifications. The BBA is usually known as
the British Board of Agrément, or the Agrément Board. Common
mispellings are: Agremont, Agreement or Agrement. The BBA can also help
with ISO 9001, Building product approvals, Construction product approvals,
BBA Certificates, Building product testing Construction product testing,
Laboratory, building product assessment, construction product assessment,
and European Standards. The BBA is a member of the ETA (European Technical
Approval) and can offer European Technical Approval Guidelines product conformity
certification and quality management systems certification. The BBA is also
a member of the UEAtc European Union of Agrément and is a Notified
body which can assist in the attainment of CE marking, or the CE mark. CPD
