BBA certification is recognised throughout the construction industry as a symbol of quality and reassurance. It's the vital ingredient in the provision of assurance, quality and integrity to a plethora of stakeholders in the construction industry.

Behnaz Abedi has a first-class honours degree in Architectural Engineering, having graduated from South Bank University in July 2013. 

She spent six months working in a sales role before beginning her career as a Technical Trainee at the BBA in January 2014.

Behnaz explained what attracted her to the role:

“As a young engineer I wanted the opportunity to explore different product types and build up my experience - the BBA is the ideal place to achieve this”

Behnaz was quickly promoted to Project Manager in February 2015 and since then has been looking after the BBA/TIMSA U-value Calculation Competency Scheme. With guidance from BBA’s senior scientists, she focuses on thermal performance assessment, including U-values, 2D and 3D thermal modelling, glazer and hydrothermal condensation risk analysis. 

She is also an official BFRC simulator and assists the BBA fenestration team with window and door BFRC energy ratings. 

Behnaz added:                                                                                                

“My unique role at the BBA has enabled me to work across different teams within the department and explore the variety of products the BBA assesses and certifies - no day is the same.” 

Behnaz lives in West London where she enjoys cooking and keeping fit by attending her local gym.
